He is currently studying at Moore under the supervision of Dr Brian Rosner, towards a PhD which will be awarded in association with the University of Western Sydney.

Ma’afu is married to Elizabeth and they have 2 children—Tevita (6) and Peter Fredrick (14 mths). During his time in Sydney Ma’afu is being jointly sponsored by LPA and Sydney Diocese of the Anglican Church.

We are very pleased to announce that Langham Literature is publishing Ma’afu’s book (in Tongan). The title of the book in Tongan is “Halakinikini ki he Vete Tohitapu”; in English “Introduction to Biblical Interpretation”. The book provides helpful interpretation methods, including introduction to hermeneutics, technicalities of biblical exegesis, interpreting the Pentateuch, Prophets, Psalms, Gospels, Epistles and Revelation.

We expect the book to be published and in the hands of Pastors and Bible College students by the end of 2006.
